Brady was born in San Mateo, California, in 1977. He played college football at the University of Michigan, where he was a two-year starter. He was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
Brady quickly became the Patriots’ starting quarterback, and he led them to their first Super Bowl victory in 2002. He has since won six more Super Bowls with the Patriots, in 2004, 2005, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He is the only quarterback in NFL history to win seven Super Bowls.
Brady is also a two-time NFL MVP (2007, 2010) and three-time Super Bowl MVP (2002, 2014, 2017). He has been named to the Pro Bowl 15 times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
In 2020, Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led them to a Super Bowl victory in his first season with the team. He became the oldest quarterback to win a Super Bowl at the age of 43.
Brady retired from the NFL in February 2023, but he reversed his decision in March 2023 and announced that he would return to play for the Buccaneers for the 2023 season. He retired again in January 2024.
