Robert Saleh Confirms Jets Are Interested In Big Running Back Move

June 9, 2023

The New York Jets have made big moves this offseason, and their head coach says they may not be finished yet.

After the Minnesota Vikings revealed that they would be cutting star running back Dalvin Cook, several teams were brought up as potential destinations for him to join.

According to Saleh, one of those destinations could be the New York Jets.

Saleh didn't commit to saying that the Jets are definitely interested in Cook, deferring that question to general manager Joe Douglas.

The head coach did say that the Jets would "turn the stone over" when in comes to Cook.

Adding Cook would be a bit of a luxury for a Jets team that also has tremendous second-year Breece Hall,

but other NFL teams have shown that a two-running back system can be viable.

Cook has the ability to make an impact out of the backfield in the passing game, much like Packers running back Aaron Jones.

Aaron Rodgers and Jones had great chemistry in Green Bay, so it would make sense to give Rodgers another talented back.

The Vikings will apparently replace Cook with longtime backup Alexander Mattison. We'll see what Cook's production looks like when he eventually finds a new team.
